Technology

When we launched the game in 2016, creating mobile applications using web technology was very ambitious and much of the infrastructure needed had to be made in-house. Even though we have kept the code up-to-date over the years, much of the original foundation is still in place.

Fun and games

Sprotarnir is an educational app for kids that we made for Landsbankinn, the National Bank of Iceland. It's split into nine sections and each section has a set of books, sounds, quizzes and games. It's built with web technologies and runs both on the web and on mobile phones as a native application.

The app features 12 mind-expanding games for kids and includes hours of original audio entertainment. We are very proud that Sprotarnir won the award for “best programming” at the 2017 Web Industry Festival.

  • Ongoing work

Since the original launch of the app back in 2016 we've incrementally been adding new games and updating older ones. The game is used by many teachers to teach the youngest generations everything from writing letters to the basics of money. This text needs to be rewritten.
